Wrongful Death
Wrongful death cases can be very complicated, as the wrongful acts of several parties may have contributed to an individual's death.

When a wrongful death occurs, Florida law recognizes the loss to the family members and provides certain remedies to protect the spouse, children and parents of the deceased. To help the family, a jury may award damages for loss of support, loss of services, loss of society, mental anguish and a number of other factors. The law also dictates that anyone causing the death of another person shall be held legally responsible for assisting the remaining family members.
Setting a price on a human life is no easy task, but one that courts and juries are required to do in wrongful death cases. We understand that no amount of money can compensate a family for the loss of a loved one, and our hearts go out to anyone who must endure such an immense tragedy, only to have that tragedy compounded by knowing that the death was due to the negligence or misconduct of another.
Wrongful death cases can be very complicated, as the wrongful acts of several parties may have contributed to an individual's death. As such, we will assign a highly qualified team of attorneys, along with medical and legal experts, to ensure that all of the facts are brought to bear, and all those responsible are held legally and financially responsible.
All civil actions, including wrongful death cases, have time limits as to when they must be filed. These time limits, or "limitations periods," are contained in laws called "statutes of limitations." If you do not file your action before the expiration of the applicable limitations period, in most cases you permanently waive your rights to recover damages in a cause of action.
